Pete has been working in the construction industry for over 34 years. Construction contracting and labor skills in both residential and commercial venues were developed early in his career. In 1985, he merged companies with Don Forsman with a shared vision for providing exceptional residential construction in the Twin Cities market. The ensuing era has witnessed the growth of the company to 24 employees with an ever expanding list of prestigious customers. Pete’s primary responsibilities are the general management and development of the overall structure of the business. Additionally, he oversees the mechanical, electrical and plumbing aspects of the firm’s construction projects.

Don is co-founder of the company and has been in the construction business for 36 years. Following brief stints in engineering and architecture school, he devoted himself full time to learning the construction trades and building processes working in the field. While focusing his attention on high quality projects with architects, designers, and homeowners, Don also formed associations with skilled craftsmen willing and able to perform with excellence. He has assembled a team of carpenters, woodworkers, cabinetmakers, and project managers that have a keen interest in timeless design, flawless function, and first-rate craftsmanship. He continues to oversee the work of the company in order to meet the high expectations of our customers and their architects.

Chad Johnson

Ingrained Wood Studios

As manager of Ingrained Wood Studios, Chad continually draws upon his 30 years of woodworking experience. Throughout his 9 years with the company, engineering creative solutions has been the hallmark of the facility entrusted to him. While overseeing tight production schedules, he maintains a high level of detail and produces millwork materials of exceptional quality. Chad has also been instrumental in the development of the company’s newest product line, custom doors.

Greg Schlink

As a registered landscape architect and MBA, Greg brings a unique perspective to the Welch Forsman team. Greg has worked on development projects throughout the country, including Nevada where he held the position of residential planner for the master planned community of Summerlin developed by the Howard Hughes estate. With 30 years of experience in design, construction, and project management, he utilizes his diverse background to formulate solutions to the numerous operational challenges facing the company. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his MBA is from the University of Arizona.

Thom Franklin

Thom Franklin

Prior to joining the Welch Forsman team in 2001, Thom worked as a self-employed carpenter and handyman. Throughout his career with Welch Forsman, he has steadily gained skills adding to his value starting from an entry level carpenter working his way to being a site supervisor. He continues to enjoy his position and the daily challenges of seeing projects through to completion.

Paul joined Welch Forsman in 2011. He brings with him experience as a licensed residential remodeler and cabinetmaker. Having recently supervised an extensive project in Kenwood, Paul has more than proven himself as a site supervisor.
